1.
What does the product do?
Comfort Zone Spray with D.A.P.
helps end or reduce fear-related, destructive
behavior in dogs and puppies that result
in the following behaviors: destructive
behavior, such as chewing, excessive
barking and whimpering, house soiling,
hyperactivity and other fear-related
behaviors. Comfort Zone Spray with
D.A.P. works by mimicking the natural
pheromone released by the alpha female
dog while nursing, sending a signal
of comfort and safety to her puppies.
When the dog or puppy senses the pheromone
through the nasal passage, he feels
secure and comfortable, reducing his
urge to act out through chewing, excessive
barking, house soiling or other fear-related
behaviors.
Comfort Zone
Spray with D.A.P. provides short-term
comfort for dogs and puppies in stressful
situations, such as:
- Traveling in the car
- Visits to the veterinarian
- Adoption into a new home
- Adjusting to a new environment
- Moving to a new home
- Visitors to the home
- New pet or family member
- Training, walks and trips to
the park
- Thunderstorms and fireworks
2.
What is the active ingredient?
In Comfort Zone Spray with
D.A.P. the active ingredient is an
analogue of the pheromone released
by the mother dog while nursing.
3.
What are pheromones?
Pheromones are natural chemicals
secreted by animals to communicate
with other members of the same species.
Often, pheromones will communicate
ownership of territory and mating
availability to others. Pheromones
can be secreted from various locations
on the body. Comfort Zone Spray with
D.A.P. mimics the "appeasing" pheromone
released by nursing mother dogs,
sending a signal of comfort and safety
to the puppies.
4.
How well does Comfort Zone with
D.A.P. work?
In clinical studies*, Comfort
Zone with D.A.P. reduced or ended
destructive behavior in 91% of dogs,
reduced or ended house soiling in
75% of dogs and reduced or ended
excessive barking and whining in
65% of dogs.
5.
What behaviors cannot be expected
to change?
As with any product, there
are limitations to the effects. Comfort
Zone Spray with D.A.P. cannot solve
dominance-related problems, nor does
it address communication problems
between the owner and the pet. Behavioral
conditions can result from many causes,
and behaviors not resolved by using
the products should be addressed
by a veterinarian.
6.

This product should be used

7.
Can I spray the product directly
on my dog?

not be directly sprayed on or near
an animal.

transport?
For transport in a crate

or car about 15 minutes before introducing
the dog. Reapply every 1 ½ -

a situation, we recommend that you
call your veterinarian.
14.
Should both the Comfort Zone Diffuser
and Spray with D.A.P. poducts be
used together for better results?
Both the spray and diffuser may be used in combination for best results
inside and outside of the home. The diffuser provides long-term, 24-hour
control inside the home, while the spray provides short-term control inside
or outside the home.
15.
If the Comfort Spray with D.A.P.
is used in boarding facilities,
will there be a noticeable effect
for the animals?
This depends on where the
product is used. In kennel situations,
many different types of pheromones
are released by dogs and cats, which
may compete with the Comfort Zone
Spray with D.A.P. In air-exchanged
facilities, the effects may vary.
However, it is generally accepted
that exposure to pheromones found
in the Comfort Zone Spray with D.A.P.
will help reduce the anxiety of your
pet's stay.
16.
If the Comfort Zone Spray with
D.A.P. is used in grooming facilities,
will there be a noticeable effect
for the animals?
The use of Comfort Zone Spray with D.A.P. in the grooming area should help
relax the dog. However, this depends on both the level of anxiety/excitement
the animal feels, which could override the pheromone effect, and the amount
of time/exposure the pets have to the pheromone in the area. Also, in air-exchanged
facilities, the effects may vary.
